Autobiography

Alexander Georgievich Plotnikov was born in Novosibirsk region. He fihished his High school education in the city of Kuibyshev and in the same year he entered the Novosibirsk Institute of Electrical Engineering (today known as Novosibirsk State Technical University - NSTU).

After finishing his studies he did scientific work at the Scientific Research Institute, Novosibirsk Institute of Electrical Engineering (NSTU), attached to Computational Centre of Siberian Brunch of the Russian Academy of Science (CC SB RAS). After completing post graduate studies at CC SB RAS he defended his doctoral dissertation in the area of "Control of Large Systems".

He started to write poems at school, but he found the courage to publish them only at mature age. The first serious publication of the selection of poetry appeared in newspaper "Soviet Siberia" in July 9, 2005. After that various Novosibirsk periodicals published his verses and poems.

In 2005 his first book of poetry "Only for You" appeared and in 2007 his second book of poetry, poems and translations was published under the title "Garland", the third book of poems and translations "The Image of You" was published in 2008.

There are more than 100 songs written based on Alexander Plotnikov's work, seven discs of songs were released. Many of the songs are well known to Novosibirsk listeners on Radio and Television.

The original New Year children's musical "Lullaby For A Snowflake" (libretto by Alexander Plotnikov, music by Anatoly Deriyev) had its premiere at the Novosibirsk Actor's House Theatre on December 26, 2008. The performance was immensely popular with young spectators during winter holidays.

In 2009-2010 Alexander Plotnikov wrote three librettos for the Musical Theater: "Hypochondriac", from the eponymous comedy by A.F. Pisemsky, "The Hole" from the eponymous novella by Alexander Kuprin and "The Window".
In addition to this, he also wrote a play in prose "Design For Love", a novella "Three Summers" and a short story "Black Doctor".
